Forum: Current Events   Topic: CRTC slaps Guelph Liberals with $4,900 fine for breaking rob

This incident isn't anything like the "Pierre Poutine" robocall scandal. Looks more like an honest mistake to me since they just left out certain identifying information (which was irrelevant considering the message was about strategic voting). The Pierre Poutine incidents had malicious i...

Not quite.. The violations involved a pre-recorded message sent by the association that failed to identify on whose behalf the call was made; provide necessary call-back information; and display the originating telephone number or an alternate number where the originator could be reached This incide...

It should probably be clarified that this only starts as of 2023. 8O

Is that under the assumption that they'll be in power till then? :?

I honestly don't see the connection between pot and coke use. Most pot smokers are looking for the opposite effect of the buzz coke is supposed to impart. Well, I have personally known people who have moved on to coke after being pot smokers. For an even "better" buzz. Not a pretty pictur...

I agree about Mcguinty. I'm a typically Liberal voter, and even I would've voted PC if they had some legitimate leadership... I still think John Tory would've been the best fit as premiere. I ended up voting Liberal because voting NDP would risk a PC win under Hudak (especially in my riding where th...

I've had some spare time in the summer, so I just wanted to volunteer and help people out. The thing is that I'm having trouble looking for a suitable position. I'd prefer to do something physically involved. I was thinking about helping out the MealsOnWheels here in Toronto as a driver. I figured t...

^ ROTFL :( As a Torontonian, I'm happy enough with the Leafs. I don't think it's necessary, or should even be a priority for the city....we don't need more wasted resources, more traffic, etc. Either way, the NHL would never let it happen since it would impact both the Toronto and Buffalo/NY markets...

Canada definitely needs more "Next Top Models", "Idol"s, and thought-provoking teen dramas about important issues like if Tom kissed Katie at the lake. Silly original, interesting, and intelligent series like this one should never last.

Looks like Showcase wants to cancel this show. It sucks how these great Canadian shows get cancelled after only one season.

If anyone wants to help they can Sign the Endgame Petition, but I don't know how much hope it has. :(

Wow....amazing and disturbing how some people are still spreading their hate like this. Can't wait until this guy gets caught with an underage gay prostitute in a seedy Minnesota motel. We all know it's going to happen, eventually. EDIT : I forgot... the gay prostitute will not be a nice Christian b...

I think people are forgetting to put this into the proper political context it was written in. This is a Toronto newspaper. If anyone heard about his speech speaking for Rob Ford (Toronto's new mayor) during his swearing-in last fall, they'd understand why this guy has no place in the political real...

With the Leafs luck, it would be Seguin to be the one to make sure we get an even later first round draft pick from Boston.

2 goals and 2 assists for him 8O 6 points in his first two play-off games. Dayum. Well done, kid.

I changed some things with my wireless box and I was able to improve my download speed.

But when this was finally accomplished, I got a notice from Rogers saying that I've used over 75% of my bandwidth for the month. [bash]
