In my personal opinion Canada has not been the same since 1990 or so, where I believe we're increasingly becoming a cheap knockoff of the U.S., one which is starting to exhibit many of the downsides of the U.S. but without most of the perks. If that's the case we don't have long before the situation...

Didn't the soviet union try to do the same thing with Cuba? Doesn't seem to cause peace and end to war, just raise tensions when you start to move nukes nere a country that you aren't exactly friendly with. I think the Soviet Union fell by itself, I mean they were in stagnation for a while and fina...

There's a difference between strategic nukes {which can't really be used against a mechanized army of the move} and NATO's tactical nukes that until the mobile missles went into service basically all of these sat in well known bases or stockpiles which would have been destroyed very or overrun very ...

The only subject of his I can't totally discredit Moore-on is the demonization and scapegoating of certain minorities in the media and elsewhere, but even then I think he is just shrewdly using that line to push his agenda than acting out of any real concern.

NATO didn't do crap, the military power of European NATO nations other than maybe the U.K. and West Germany was laughable. The cruise missle issue was significant because it has since come to light that the Soviets did not distinguish between conventional and nuclear warfare and would have spearhead...

All I know, is that in nearly *7 years* of constant dealing with the Canadian heath system to find out what was causing the severe health problems I was experiencing a few years ago, and having to spend thousands of dollars along the way, and recieving nothing more for all that money and effort exce...

I wouldn't compare Moore to any higher life form, maybe a maggot or tapeworm would be Moore close to the mark.

What's the big deal? A lot of countries use contracted military personel. The Russians for one make extensive use of so called "Kontrakti" troops in Chechnya, and I don't hear them being critisized for it.

Considering our tax burden the services we recieve are just piss poor, I say this in comparison to Western European countries with similar {often lower} tax burdens. Paying a Swedish level of tax for an American level of public services is not a good deal in my mind. As far as our vaunted social pro...

Really though, who the fuck cares? I mean besides the obvious - the idiotic percentage of society who are too easily taken advantage (and rightly so) by marketers (those who make their millions off others who so naively believe that a nice handbag, watch, new outfitt...ect. is exactly what they nee...

I checked out the CAP webpage a few months ago and liked what I saw, it's just too bad their logical grassroots level approach would never work in our now and increasingly special interest oriented political framework.

give it up rosco. i'm tired of reading useless arguments. link 12000 gunshot deaths for South Africa in 1998, which is typical in that nation of only 43 million. Columbia I believe is even worse but it's hard to find the exact figures. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/644224.stm I'm tired of...

so what you are trying to say rosco is that the USA is a wonderful place to live and none of the problems that Bowling talks about exist. He blamed 9-11 attacks on too many White people and not enough Black men on the planes. thats a quote from one of the right wing websites you posted. thats enoug...
