If it's any consolation, I'm a Sens fan who has actually been hoping for the Leafs to win certain games lately.

I need them to take points away from Montreal, Boston, and Buffalo.

You expect him to commit to voting for a budget he hasn't seen yet?

What kind of responsible opposition leader would do that?

Ontario is getting shortchanged. Alberta, BC, and Ontario are the only provinces whose populations and numbers of seats match the electoral quotient. All other provinces have their seat numbers bolstered by grandfathering. PEI is actually the worst offender, having 4 seats but not having the popula...

When you think about it, the Conservatives have a much greater chance of fueling Western seperatism than the Liberals ever will. Consider: Despite the National Energy Program, despite the perceived lack of Western balance in Liberal governments, it took a Conservative collapse to finally create our ...

I suppose it rests on how you're defining fiscally liberal/fiscally conservative.

Some might argue that the Liberal party is more fiscally conservative than the Conservatives - who have taken a 'classical liberal' approach to fiscal policy.

I just wanted to note the passing of former Ottawa M.P., and former speaker of the House of Commons Lloyd Francis. I'd met him a couple of times, and he was an interesting man with a lot of ideas. He will be missed by many of those involved in Liberal politics in Ottawa. He also served as Ambassador...

I have all kinds of love for Sean Burke, but he's not a starter anymore. Legace I would have probably looked at to create a goaltending tandem with Emery.

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2007/01/18/environment-announcements.html This is a good announcement, as the promotion of environmentally sustainable energy is important. No wonder the Liberals had it in their budget a year ago. Of course we need to go further and actually push Canada towards its Ky...

Not only did you not realize how long the thread was, my friend, but you have not realized what it is about. The question is that Harper won't be a sitting prime minister much longer. It is customary for parties to change their leader when he loses the election. No leader can go to his party and sa...
