Zipperfish Zipperfish:
The CBC has on an online survey here. So far, of 6296 votes at time of printing, 95% oppose the censorship and under 4% support it.

I wonder how many of those 95% don't realize the government's not banning the song.

If I was stupid enough to believe I would have been one of them.

First things first, don't talk to me like I owe you a certain opinion. Whether you respect my opinion or not, I don't owe you anything. No, but I think you owe it to yourself to not come off as being so callous when you're not really like that. Even if we find viable alternatives, all the climate s...

Or, if you don't like hearsay that suspiciously parrots the point of view of the hearsayer: I was just trying to show that the gay community is divided. Their opinion isn't universal. Actually in my personal observations most gays don't like it with only a minority not minding it. If it makes you f...

Oh believe me, I feel for the people who've already been affected, and will be affected. but short of devoting all of our national budget towards relocating them to area's of higher elevation and areas that wont be 40C+ in the winter and 70C+ in the summer, there isn't a whole lot we can do for the...

To anyone who thinks the gay community almost universally condemns this decision, think again. One gay I asked said: Any radio station that can't understand why we wouldn't want that word played on the air is crazy. Justify it by saying you've played it for decades? Society had done lots of things f...

I was enriched by hearing the song.

Stop whining and listen to it then.

I suppose it's not the end of the world if I hear *bleep* instead of "faggot" the next time ROCK 101 plays this song, but what irks me is this triumph of small, humourless minds over some of the damn finest music the 80s--perhaps the lowest cultural point ever on the planet--managed to pr...

ere in Ab, funeral providers don't charge anything for a babies funeral.

That's very nice of them. It's always hard not to let it pull your heartstrings when it involves a baby.

But he is suspended. Do try and keep up.

I didn't know that at the time. Last night this story came out that he's still working his desk job and I responded. I expect reporters to get their facts straight but sometimes they fuck up.

He's lucky to still have his job. He should fired before a court has tried him? For a journalist you cherry-pick your causes that should be dealt with summarily. Or is it just cops that are the focus of your lynch mob style of retribution? My lynch mob style? I have no such mentality. Please stop t...

In BC, the payment is hidden in the General Taxes paid, but it is still paid. You seem to think dying in BC is free. It's not. I take it you're not for socialized healthcare or coroner services. I am, but fair enough. A lot of people aren't, and with Canada's mounting debt, it's hard to blame them....

Good ol' American healthcare. try reading the article, has nothing to do with healthcare. Only 2 things in life guaranteed. The story says it's to cover the cost of a medical examiner who must review every death. True they label it a tax, which we have lots of, and true it's technically no longer h...
