There are other animals that can kill and eat a human too.
Crocodiles, tiger sharks, lions, komodo dragons... |

Three of nine tiger subspecies are already completely extinct due to humans, gone forever. Another, the South China tiger, is already extinct from the wild, the last one being shot in 1994. (Good job!) There's not enough left in captivity to recover this sub-species genetically. The Siberian tiger w... |

Still no dolphins killed. Last I heard the slaughters been suspended.
And in case you're wondering, yes, I do feel good about that.

I've been following this for a few years now. There used to be 10 million koalas in Australia but only 100,000 left. Since then, the population has halved again, and is now estimated to be as little as 43,000. This all due to chlamydia (STD) and human impacts like habitat destruction. Koalas 'could ... |

Guy_Fawkes Guy_Fawkes: Im sure a high pressure air piston to the skull would do the trick in making it relatively painless. They'd still have to chase them for up to eight hours in order to 'corral' them to begin with. It's already inhumane at that point. |

Guy_Fawkes Guy_Fawkes: Thank you Hyack, now I agree that the Japanese Government should step in and make these hunts more humaine. Or maybe just not do it at all?
It's impossible for this to be humane. |

Guy_Fawkes Guy_Fawkes: What I ment was you should not 'humanize' dolphins. I didn't do that. A human is more sophisticated of an animal than a dolphin, but still, if I told you they were frantically calling their hos and bitches on their cell phones, then I could see your point. |

600 000 is a bullshit figure as far as the earths wobble is concerned, and isn't enough to affect climate. Well, you can blame Darrell Kaufmann of Northern Arizona University for that. He and other scientists seem to be of the belief the Earth's orbit follows a 21,000-year cycle, and in the last 2,... |

PublicAnimalNo9 PublicAnimalNo9: I'm am sooo calling bullshit on that one. That would mean that our entire planet's orbit has moved farther away from the sun. Earth's orbit changes and is a known contributor to climate change. |

10,000 years ago is 'recent history' mate. I read history. The maximum extent of the last ice age was about 18,000 years ago, although it spanned about 100,000 to 10,000 years ago. So you're right that it ended about 10,000 years ago. In earth time that's just a blip. However, that's pre history, n... |

EyeBrock EyeBrock: So, who started the two Ice Ages (of recent history) then? It doesn't sound like you read the story.
BTW there were no ice ages in "recent history." I think you mean prehistory (which in terms of Earth time was relatively only a little while ago.) |
