I'm not going to sit here and admit that the CBC hasn't been critical of the Conservatives. Of course they have, but they've been just as critical of the Liberals, both when they were in power and after.
In both instances, there would be a lot to be critical of. |

[ I've watched every major news source there is in the US and Canada enough to be very familiar with them all, and the CBC is about as balanced as it gets in North America. Maybe NPR could give it a run for its money, but no one else even comes close. Like I said, during the election I thought CBC ... |

Zipperfish Zipperfish: mtbr mtbr: Like I said, during the election I thought CBC was pro-Harper. I .
And yet many here would argue the opposite. Just goes to show hopw we are prisoners of our own biases. Except for me. I'm above all that.
Exactly. Thank you for pointing that out. |

Thanks for the enlightenment dumbass. Any time. And it's absolutely true that most Canadians, conservative or not, only know the States from what they see on television. And if you watch the right programmes you might get a pretty good idea of how things work down there. But the only way to really ... |

He's on the right track, but frankly I think most people see him as a golden boy because of his father. I would personally much rather see someone who earned his way into politics get the leadership. |

I dunno... Do you watch CBC a lot? ;-) OH NO!! Not at all. I have "Good TV" DirecTV . I don't like watching that Canadian brainwashing Liberal crap CBC , I watch the U.S. brainwashing Conservative crap FoxNews . So if you live in Canada that would basically mean you break both US an... |

The rules should be changed, I'd suggest that in order to receive automatic Citizenship you would need one of the parents to be a Canadian. That would seem fair to me That already is the law, in fact. But only half of it. Since 1977, you become Canadian at birth if (A) you were born in Canada, or (... |

IMO you should have to be in Canada for 5 years before you're kids can be Canadian. Anchor babies should have no birth rights @ 6 weeks. I wondered about that myself. I wonder why my kids will be Canadian automatically when they turn 18, if they have lived in Canada for 5 years. What's your situati... |

Well... I missed the INS form. Tests like this are on the way out. It obvious that people coming into the U.S. don't have a clue about obeying the law, which is why we have tons of them in jail. Think about it - they come from countries that are totally corrupt from top to bottom. They don't even k... |

Better still would be to dump the CBC in its entirety and use the money saved for research into "clean" energy. :D The CBC is a national treasure. It serves a great purpose, as a public watchdog whose approval isn't for sale like Canwest or the other conglomerates. It belongs to everyone,... |

Back to Dion, I'm not saying he would make the best Prime Minister, in fact, I don't even think he's been doing good enough job running his party. He was my candidate of choice during the leadership race, but now I know I was wrong. Dion's a great person to have on the Liberal team, behind the scene... |

But you bring up another good point. When I lived in the States I was able to listen to the service either on Sirius (best product ever) or online. This was a real gift I felt, because even though I wasn't living in Canada, it still felt good to listen to Canadian programming. |
