Note: I wrote this a few weeks ago before the leadership race was over. I've revised it to reflect Naheed Nenshi's winning the NDP leadership. The race to replace Rachel Notley as Alberta NDP leader is over, and former Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi is the winner. Nenshi’s entry generated a huge amoun...

What I don't understand is why anyone thought Rob Schneider was funny in the first place. This is the guy whose career includes such cinematic 'classics' like "The Hot Chick", "The Animal" and the "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo" movies.

I shed absolutely no tears for that son of a bitch who deserved to rot in prison for the rest of his life. In that way, this is karma. But I do, however, feel for the people who may never have closure for their loved ones because Pickton's involvement in their disappearances was never proven. If any...

How would you prescribe a remedy then? Class issues effect race issues directly. You can't be apathetic towards facts and it is class not race that drives these issues. Money talks and government needs data to drive policy. The fact that there are more poor people in poorer areas should be apparent...

Case in point. Mom has a house that is in an area of a day care and a school and on this street are low income housing. No slight against the poor but time and time again their areas get infested with meth labs and the street is flooded with junkies. Police raid, round up the ones passed out on the...

Over the years, it’s become painfully clear how hostile some people are to others who are either different from them or don’t “know their place” in society. Some Americans flipped out when Barack Obama became the first Black man to become U.S. President. Female public servants have told me how irate...

The difference between the World Wars is that in World War I we didn't have any real say in whether we did so. Britain still had formal control of our foreign affairs, so when it declared war the Dominions were automatically part of it. In 1931, the Statute of Westminster gave the Dominions an equal...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KFOVG05R58 Interesting take, JT is going down because Singh is far too effective. As a result JT will go all out to DESTROY the NDP while impaling his own party at the polls. Sure he will lose, but the NDP will be GONE and the Liberals can always take ba...

I only mention how many times Ezra Levant has been sued for libel. And lost, every time. I wonder what's more humiliating for him, the sheer amount of money he's probably lost in libel suits or the number of times he's had to make public apologies when his mouth writes cheques his ass can't cash. O...

Quebec has always had an unusual-and even ‘distinct’-place in Canadian life. Besides having the largest and most prominent separatist movement in Canadian history, Quebec’s also been at the center of the controversy over Bill 21 , the ‘secularism’ law that restricts public servants from wearing reli...

Hearing the jokes about Joe Biden's and Donald Trump's ages and mental faculties reminds me of the jokes about Bob Dole nearly 30 years ago.

And then the revelations about *my* age hit me like a ton of bricks...

I don't think PP is on the cusp of a majority - sure he's got huge support in the Prairies and northern Ontario, but those are conservative strongholds, and winning 70% in rural areas matters little on the electoral front. His numbers are really low in the GTA and Quebec (he's got no chance in the ...
