first let me start by saying, this thread = big lol They continue to imbue their kids with hatred, much like the Irish did or the Euros in the Balkans. But really why? When have the French ever liked the English? Er, never. But we need to acknowledge that. Once we can deal with the ancient hatred we...

The idea that someone in the article suggested of sending Canadian soldiers up their with them is probably the best idea, for now at least. The government really needs to get things in gear and actually start all the projects it has planned instead of just talking about them.

A friend at the video store I used to work at told me about this show, and I was all "pssshh vampires, probably more of that Anne Rice/twilight crap."

But lo and behold I've now watched every episode. I'm so ashamed.

“The racist right will talk about these things to frighten people about immigrants. The liberal-left has abandoned its responsibility to fight medievalism. And nobody wants to talk about what is really happening here.” I'm not so sure how racist the right in Canada is anymore but I don't think truer...

hey you mess with the bull and you get gored and left for dead on the street, Tsuu T'ina really fucked them selves in the ass on this one, and I don't have any sympathy for them either. If I were Ed and Bronco, I'd tell them its alright, we are going to go ahead with the new alignment, and they are...

I'm glad the Lawrence Cannon did this. I've never heard of this Joseph-Elzear Bernier guy before and I wish that our governments, both provincial and federal, would promote our history a little more than past governments have.

It's not history programs, it's collective ignorance. It's a product of society where intellectual relativism prevails and everyone's opinion matters, whether its correct or not. Knowledge-based questions can't survive as it requires a correct answer, not subjective prattle, so it's no wonder basic...

Personally I'm not a fan of the monarchy at all, but if the Canadian media focuses on anything it's his two sons and the Queen.

You're lucky if you got that much. All I can remember is a brief overview of WW1 that didn't even focus on Canada, a session of learning how evil Canada was for the Japanese internments, and a whack of nonsense about the Bushmen of the Kalahari. From what I can tell, in the Calgary area anyway, you...

Hmmmmmm..... "See action in Afgani Land after the unit is fully trained in about four year." Are we not supposed to be out of a combat role there in 2010-2011. or is there some other plan in Ottawa that is going to "extend" this mission once again. Sounds kinda fishy to me. You ...

As a product of the Alberta public education system, I'm amazed I made it this far to university. Now I have to watch my little brother go through it and it's worse than when I was his age. In terms of religious celebrations right now, no Christmas, it's winter holiday, Halloween was barely mentione...

No, the freedom to choose is. I don't see people killing other people with meth or crack. I don't see innocent bystanders getting shot with crack. Freedom. Look it up. No, they just kill themselves with it. The innocent bystanders are just their friends and family watching their loved ones waste aw...

No one has mentioned the option of having an elected president doing the job of the governor general. Just a suggestion but maybe something to consider. Also for the monarchists who say the republican side hasn't put forth an idea for a republican system, it's because they're are too many to choose ...
