Ashton, you have my sympathy, well some of it. I spent ten years in the Brit military, did the Falklands thing, spent time all over doing what I was ordered to do etc. I volunteered to join. I came from a poor working class back ground and I was kicked out of my house at 14. I joined at 16 1/2 years... |

Sorry Uof Sask person. You are obviously one of those people who refuse to believe irrefutable facts. Absolutely no point in continuing this discussion with you as you are demonstrating contrary points in a manner more suitable to a grade school debate. Have a nice day and do continue your studies. ... |

I spent three years in Labrador and in that time I got to know and admire the Newfoundlanders. They have been pretty much shafted since Joey Smallwood (bless him) negotiated the worst deal in NFLD history with Quebec over Churchill Falls hydro which ensured NFLD got a pittance while Quebec continues... |

You troops (as in the CF) must be pretty pissed off that the Liberals haven’t deployed DART to the Indian Ocean. I see the yanks have a carrier battle group with the Bootnecks delivering aid. That’s the way to do it. The military are of great use in these kind of disasters. The UN are as useless as ... |

"As loyal as she began, so she remains" - Loyalty is a daunting part of any virtuous relationship and should be reserved solely for our best of friends in the world. Technical legalities aside, the Queen has no real governance over Canada. Let's be real. But nonetheless, she represents our history a... |

She's not the Queen of England Msr Crusty. England isn't an independent nation with its own Queen. Check your labels and use the correct terms please, it will add to your credibility. She is however the Queen of Canada, despite the Québécois best efforts. A link to the past? Sure, but it it's Canad... |

I have a very nice "Chesty" pot jug given to me by a good mate who was USMC embassy guard in Addis Ababa. We had fun with the USMC; I see the Brits and the USMC have forged close links since Gulf War One and again in Iraq. I think the way the Brit infantry work compliments the USMC well in an operat... |
