bossdog bossdog:
It comes down to moral support. Nothing more and nothing less. For a soldier to know that he or she is appreciated can make a huge difference in the mind of that soldier. It's not about preventing harm or danger. It's about morale.

Exactly, bossdog. THANKYOU.

I fail to see the value in wearing red clothes. How is this supporting anything? It's a false sense that you're somehow helping the people who are ACTUALLY SUPPORTING THE TROOPS - you know, by actually doing something important and beneficial. Because, Blue_Nose, anything that people can do to show...

Okay, so why are our military families still having to go to Food Banks again? I'm still unclear about that... And this has what to do with Red Fridays, exactly ? Actually, SprCForr, you were the one who brought it up, not I. I was responding to what you said. If I misunderstood the post, I apologi...

You know what, Lily? Personally, I think this is actually a great idea! I think wearing these colors would be a tremendous morale booster for the people who work so hard to keep our countries and our cities safe. In fact, I just might make it a personal mission of mine to do just that.... Well, I'm...

Ah ok I see/understand what your meaning now. In my view, as an ex-soilder, it might be a bit late but any support is truly appreciated. Stratos, I feel it's incumbent on all of us to find ways to show our support. And yes, I agree that it's late in coming, but better late than not at all. [flag]

Has for Red Fridays, good idea, but shouldn't you be wearing it everyday not just one day a week? I know alot of spouses who have been supporting us for years don't wear it, cause they don't feel the need to show everyone what they feel everyone should be doing anyways. So, what is it you want? Sho...

I'd go with the longer sentence. Not too sure about the death penalty, though. I mean, killing someone who killed someone else while driving drunk won't bring that other person back, and it won't erase the pain that person's family has to deal with. All it would do is give the drunk driver an easy o...

I've been noticing that, too - and while I'm sort of glad to see it, I'm also questioning why it's only happening now, instead of years ago, when it was needed most. Can you explain this a bit to me, I'm unsure of part "instead of years ago, when it was needed most." What was going on the...

This San Fransico Police Association rep is more than a little PO'd Not impressed at all Ho--ly shyte... Pissed isn't the word for that cop. I'd say "beyond livid" would be more apt - and I don't blame him one bloody bit. He's right: the media spends too much time questioning the validity...

Two years? Only two years? That's outrageous! http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/furious.gif He should have gotten at least 3 years for the drunk driving charge, and another 10 years for negligence causing death! http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/swear1....

I just got back from an early morning swim at a new swim club I joined last week. I had a long discussion with a lifeguard and pool manager over the issue of bathing caps. Now, I shave my head because my supercharged levels of testosterone make it pointless to try any other hairstyles. However, tha...
