With the two-state solution a distant dream, Palestinians ask if it's time to push for a one-state solutionWorld | 207433 hits | Dec 30 12:29 am | Posted by: N_Fiddledog Commentsview comments in forum Page 1 You need to be a member of CKA and be logged into the site, to comment on news. |

Thanks for the laughs.
Israel has never really been interested in a 2-state solution or a bi-national state. They have only ever been interested in a single Jewish state, the only leader to seriously consider otherwise was Rabin, who was assassinated by a right wing ultranationalist.
But let's look at the expansion of Israeli settlements in some context. Over the years Israel has taken land from Jordan, Egypt, and Syria. In time they ceded those lands back to them when they stopped fucking with Israel. With Palestine though, there's none of that. When Israel cleared out of Gaza, the Palestinians were launching rocket attacks from that area within hours of the Israeli pull-out. They've done similar shit in other areas as well.
The main purpose of the settlements is to push the Palestinians out of rocket range of cities like Tel Aviv and Hebron.
Every olive branch that Israel has offered Palestine, the Palestinian leadership has stomped and spit on it. It shouldn't come as much of a surprise to anyone that Israel is finally starting to say, "Fuck it."
What I find almost humorous is the hypocrisy of Palestinian Christians, who whine about how persecuted they are by their Muslim neighbours. They then claim that they have to stand in solidarity with them in the face of Israeli expansion. FFS, it's the IDF protecting them from being completely wiped out in the West Bank by the Jihadis.
And Palestine has? IN a UNSCOP report from 1946-47, the Arab states AND Palestine declared a war of extermination against Israel. NONE of them wanted a two state solution, they wanted Israel to fuck off and die.
