Movie industry of being a 'straight, white, boy's club' days before the Oscars

Every year have a "best black actor", best black actress, best black transgendered actor/actress, best gay black actor, best gay black actress, best black child actor/actress best black director, best black producer, best black screenwriter, best black costume designer, best black everything else category.

Sorry, I just noticed that these severely oppressed movie people already have an awards show with all those categories plus and it's called the "Black Movie Awards".

Maybe it's time we started protesting our exclusion by this straight,, black, boys, club.

Then we must move on to the NFL to "even things out" there.

We're OK with the linemen and the running backs. They're mostly black. The 13% of blacks in America is over-represented there, but that's fine. It would only matter if they were white. However, there's a problem in the quarterback position. Not only is there a over-representation of white quarterbacks, but they are winning too many big games.

Case in point, this last Superbowl. It's only fair therefore that white quarterbacks must start wearing weights on their arms and legs.

Now let's talk hockey.

It's really to bad that a few perpetual butthurts ruin it for everyone of both colours.

This isn't NAACP Awards, it's the Oscars and alot of great white movies haven't made the cut that should have over the years but, you didn't see anyone screaming about boycotting the awards for that.

If the black film community wants to get more awards they should do what the White, Asian, Latino and Foreign people do when they get snubbed. Make better movies and leave the Academy no choice in their selection.

This is nothing more than politically correct blackmail to make the academy do what "these special people" want. So, I'll go out on a limb here and say that next year the winners in the major categories deserving or not, will be black.

It's pure free market in action. Cast Jake Gyllenhaal in Prince of Persia and it at leasts makes some money because even with the movie sucking it at least attracted some Jake Gyllenhaal fans to the theatre. Cast an Arab or Semitic actor in the same role and your cultural/racial accuracy gains you nothing, except to stroke your "look how good I am!" liberal conscience, and you make even less money out of something that bombed even with Jake Gyllenhaal in it. Movies and TV are made with only one main thing in mind and that's to make money for the people that bankroll a production. It's not to sooth the bruised feelings of all the snowflakes out there who can't even get out of bed in the morning without finding something new to get offended at. If divershitty casting made money then the last Fantastic Four movie, with a black guy cast as Johnny Storm, would have been as popular as X-Men or Deadpool instead of getting bounced out of the theatres in about ten days and making even less money than the two lackluster FF films that came before it did.

Yeah but if you caught it in the video, that's what the guy who cast "gods of Egypt" said, then he went and cast no-name white actors anyway.

Tropic Thunder already had it covered.

Wouldn't exactly call Gerard Butler and Nicolaj Coster-Waldau "no names". Maybe not Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise status but they're not wannabes either. That movie is going to tank cause it looks like pure stupid shit and casting the best Arab/Semitic-looking actors that ever lived instead of some white guys wouldn't do a bit of good to save it.

Here's another suggestion to quell the straight white boy's club allegations being made against the Academy Awards.

Use the specific races % of the population as the criteria for being nominated and winning an academy award.

For example 63% of the nominees and winners "must" be white, 16.3% "must" be Hispanic or Latino, 12.2% must be black, 4.7% must be non Hispanic Asians and the remaining 3.1% can be anything they want including talented people who don't use their colour as a crutch..

So, once they're done doing that they can as FD said, move on to other more important things like sports where the 12.2% are grossly over represented in some sports while being completely under represented in others. Sports like synchronized swimming, sking, figure skating, hockey and water polo.

Then, when we have everyone winning their correct and allotted share of awards and having every facet of their life life being controlled by their % of population we can congratulate ourselves on being an all inclusive and politically correct paradise where everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame no matter whether they deserve it or not.

Damn first world problems.
