Leader Justin Trudeau says a Liberal government would repeal the Conservative government's two-tier citizenship law, and ensure a strong and united Canada where all citizens are treated equally.

    this law may not be the right way to do it, but I know what the government was trying to do. Remove the citizenship by convenience issue. My wife works for a major oilfield service company that does international transfers all the time. Many people come here from overseas and stay to get a passport then leave so they can travel easier. Many of these people have no intent on ever staying in Canada.

    I think they want to go after this type of passport holder. You now have to show significant ties to Canada or loose it. I am not in complete agreement with this bill the way it sits, but I do think more needed to be done to stop the abuse of the passport.
