Research is the flip side of science. There is a need to test the theories we come up with by observing the universe in action, and creating experiments to verify or logging data to verify those theories. Research isn't wasted money, it's how we have the technology and level of sophistication we enjoy in modern society.

Climate denial isn't science. It's about casting doubt on the research. If they were to do actual research and provide that reproducible data for others to draw the same conclusion from, that's science. Most of the time they are focused on discrediting others, or casting doubt on the results.

I could care less about what Gore and Suzuki do, much the same as I don't care what Donald Trump or Mel Gibson do, and I still don't understand why people trot out a former US Vice President and a Geneticist as though they were authorities on environmental concerns. They are activists! People chide Neil Young for his activism, but no one thinks he's an authority on Oilsands. (not even him!)

And the one part of this whole thing is how political the deniers have made science. People can no longer distinguish the science from the politics.

No, I see that there has always been a political component to it. Science isn't politics, but research has a big political component. I was just hoping we were more enlightened than this.

I'll try a different approach to this, a few questions first how long has research been going on GW, have there been any conclusive results, who is the leading authority on the matter, are there vested political or economic interests, and from what little I care to know most predictions haven't even come close to being right. And after having said done and all the best conclusion is that within 100 to 150 years there could be a increase of anywhere from half to a few degrees increase temp, then I'm sorry whether man made or nit, true or false then I just don't give a fart tbh.

The politics decides what we study.. and what we don't.

Researchers need money to keep studying, therefore they have to produce something.
Good or bad, right or wrong, correct research or not, doesn't matter.
Keep the money moving.

You can complain the deniers try to discredit the research, GW research has lots of holes worthy of being exposed. Because of the politics and money involved.

It's almost comical, isn't it? They kind of speak in hushed tones about this remarkable secret discovery they've made that money filters into think tanks without anybody being able to identify donors.

The insinuation is this is secret, and it's only the right wing doing it. Ok, so if it is secret it's the worst kept secret in the history of secrets, and both sides do it like crazy and have ever since I followed this.

Personally, I think the left is where the real secret money is. Global warming theology money buries the forces opposed to it.

Have you not heard of the Soros backed Tides foundation that funnels money into leftist causes? You have? Good, give me the names of the donors in Tides who are backing the Neil Young anti-oilsands campaign. Can't do it right? Personally, I think it's the Saudis.

And a degree in warming is an , not an absolute. Actual temperatures can vary 10 degrees hot, and 9 degrees cooler to come up with that figure. And 3 - 4 degrees is the likely conservative figure for 100 years. Look at the change we are seeing already, with only a fraction of a degree!

And a massive amount of money has been spent for climate change proponents too, with a great deal of it being government funds. Lobbying and activist groups need money, and they'll get it from organizations and individuals who support their goal. This isn't really news.

Yeah, conservative figure which is just another prediction out of the 100s which have failed to materialize, I'm just going to sit this one out, like I said before IF its true, go after the real culprits and stop trying to force the little man to comply.
