North Korea says it's entered a 'state of war' with South Korea

I find that image of the North Koreans standing shoulder to shoulder with fists in the air, oddly reminiscent of something you'd see in the Third Reich.

In the Third Reich they were there of their own will. They weren't there because it was the only way to get fed.
The Nazis also didn't have Photoshop...

My first thought was "Does South Korea know that they are?"
My second thought was "That man is crazier than his father"

It's getting serious... Obama called Rodman.

Hopefully he is crazy enough to have an attempted coup which causes the state to collapse. At this point the best we can basically hope for is that when they collapse they don't try to take SK down with them.

Trouble is that he isn't the problem it's his Generals, so unless somebody is willing to take out the entire North Korean leadership a coup is doomed to failure even if you take out the craziest man on the penninsula.

That's why I'm hoping he's just crazy enough to cause a rift in the generals and have some against and some for, with any luck it would either result in the generals losing power or a civil war (which would last about a week when their entire military finished deserting to SK due to starvation).

This is old news. North Korea and South Korea have been in a state of war with each other since 1953.

I'm concerned that Pyongyang is really posturing themselves into a corner, and I'm concerned that they are going to have to do something to save face. This is where Beijing and Moscow can try to talk Pyongyang down, that or have China invade NK, I'd rather have the more stable (and sane) Chinese running things in NK then the illustrous Kim family.

Personally I'd prefer if the South Koreans unified the entire pennisula but I doubt that'll happen anytime soon especially since the Chinese are still backing Denis Rodman's one gene to many love monkey.

Oh well one can only hope. But if that mental case does actually fire missles at the US then all bets are off and he's probably going to find out what shock and awe are really about especially since his masters across the Yalu won't come to his defense because it'd be bad for business.

Then why haven't they stifled their pet monkey? Seems to me they'd be more concerned about his shit ass crazy antics than they are.

Unless of course they know just how far he'll go or should I say, how far they'll let him go before telling him to back off. It's a win win for the Chinese, they get to embarrass the Americans through their puppet and yet still act like friends with them.

I think in this case the NK would be able to demonstrate "shock and awe" considering Seoul lies well within rocket and artillery range. They could flatten the city and inflict incredible casualties on the south before anyone could mount a counteroffensive.

I'd love it if NK implodes without a shot being fired and the Korea was reunified under the South. HOwever I fear that will not happen in the near future.

Nah. Experts have said it is unlikely that all-out war will break out. There is going to be no WWIII for the time being.
