Can't wait! I may even make an attempt to see it in the theatre. Can't remember the last time I went to the show.

Hopefully it's better than the last one was - Quantum of Solace sucked the big one.

Agreed. I didn't think much of Casino Royale either. Daniel Craig doesn't do Bond justice. He doesn't exude the class/style that James Bond is supposed to have. Craig has that "working man"'s aura. He comes off more like James Bond's gardener or mechanic.

Not that I don't like Daniel Craig. I thought he was excellent in Munich, Infamous and Layer Cake. He might be able to play Jim Bond, but James Bond is out of his range. He's just too rough for the part.

My thoughts exactly. You think he's a working man - in this one he drinks Heinken instead of martinis! Really?

My POV about the Craig movies are that they are more like Jason Bourne movies instead of Bond movies. The style is totally different from the rest of the franchise. No cool gadgets, no awesome cars, hell, he didn't even really 'get' the girl in Casino Royale.

The best thing about Bond was that his job was the best one in the free world - hot chicks, cool cars, awesome gadgets, god-like in the casino, all topped off with martinis. Nowadays, he's just another action hero who uses his fists instead of his brains.

Dunno guys, I think the Bond movies were becoming stale and needed more of a hard edged character.

    Agreed.

I'm trying to picture anyone but Sean Connery taking that monkey's fist in the nuts in Casino Royale and it ain't happening.

Pierce Brosnan and Roger Moore would have been crying like baby!

At first I thought that the Bond movies were getting stale, but as Brosnan progressed, his character showed weaknesses associated with getting old - something that none of the previous Bond movies ever did. I enjoyed that 'growth' in the Bond franchise.

I fully understand that I'm in the minority, as Craig's version of Bond is super popular.

When my wife and I first watched Casino Royale, she asked me, "Is this a Jackie Chan movie?" because of that ridiculous chase scene in the beginning. That was my first thought too - and IMHO, it went all downhill from there.

I thought Brosnan was pretty badass in Goldeneye, running around with an AK-47 most of the time, driving tanks through Moscow, etc.

I admit he wasn't a 'tough guy', but that's the whole point behind Bond. He's a thinking action hero, not some muscle bound knucklehead like this character.

Actually the Bond character in the books is a borderline sociopath! 8O

I agree, that why I like the new guy. Needed to get back to the Sean Connery mold.
