Really, football have a big minority of the mind-less scum of each country going to the matches. It's always been the same as long as I can remember. I would never go to a game after being to many in the UK on-duty.

There used to be a time when you could take your kids to a prof-soccer game. Those days are definitely gone.
Why? Because what we saw in Vancouver with the hockey riot happens in The Netherlands and UK almost every damned weekend. (that's a bit exaggerated, but every top match, it is bingo again...)

To be fair, it's gotten a lot better in England, especially since Hillsborough. What's also helped is that ticket prices are so high now that the nutters and clots have been priced out of the game.

But to get back to the article, I would say that the bigger scandal isn't the potential for racism but the fact that Ukraine is run by a Moscow flunkie who is repressing his political rivals.

Just once, I'd like to see this kind of international event awarded with a bit of morality on mind as opposed to pure money. That's why I hate that Qatar was awarded the 2018 World Cup and China the 2008 Olympics.
