TORONTO - In Dalton McGuinty's Ontario, notorious criminals get breaks that aren't available to people who are driving while talking on a cellphone and looking for directions to a cemetery.

What the hell his this CNews - some Conservative Party news organ:

To have the two in the same column is its own travesty of justice, but they are linked thanks to what has become a rigid province which pampers the scum of society while taxing, fining and over-regulating the cream.

That reporter has got himself in a real lather because a woman was using a cell while driving. "Oh, the humanity!"

If retards like this Kumar clown were smart enough to pull over to operate their cellphones then the government never would have had to institute this legislation. Kumar should be thanking the cops for maybe saving her life and those of innocent victims she may have killed as a result of her irresponsible and dangerous driving.

Joe Warmington isn't exactly known for his hard hitting journalism. Usually it's just mush pieces.
I wonder if his idiotic attitude would have been the same had the driver killed or injured someone whilst yakking on her cellphone.

As for the cops laughing in their cruiser? IT was probably at the idiotic suggestion that the police escort them to the cemetery THEN ticket them. I thought it was funny too. Maybe Joe Warmington would like to call me and ask why

It would have saved a lot of time for every body if they had just pulled over and listened to the directions.

I think the police did exacly what they were supposed to. There is a good reason for this law I've known people who got into accidents because someone was on the phone one was killed.

The officers may have saved somebody's life.

it seems like the sisters were in an aweful hurry to blame someone else for their mishap.

let me ask one question: Did the sisters take all legal and reasonable precautions to making sure they got to the funeral on time?

Does she deny she was on the phone while driving? No? So shut up and pay the fine

If they missed the Funeral because they got pulled over for 15 minutes they were already ridicously late to begin with, pay the fine and move on and stop looking for charity cause you are a minority!!

That is the stupidest fucling law ever ... if you are too stupid to talk on the phone and drive then you shouldn't be driving. And also the law says without lawful excuse, go to court and let them know you had a lawful excuse...get the fine reduced or thrown out.

At least the cops could have some bedside manner.

sorry but i fully agree with this article, this is the stupidest law i have ever seen, and the fact that these officers made these girls day even worse instead of simply warning them or at least taking 5 seconds to listen to the girls explanation instead of laughing at her is beyond ridiculous.

lets recap really what happened here

    Girl "broke the law"
Cops sees said girl, pulls her over
Girl tries to explain through tears she is trying to get to a funeral.
Copper lady now has two choices
Give lady ticket, or, let lady go with warning, even though she is breaking said law, because she is already in enough pain/stress and doesn't need bitchy cops ticket right now, were all human shouldn't have been hard to identify with girl.

Lady copper in her wisdom tickets said girl and cause even more grief , all for the sum of 150 bucks into gov pocket.

    Again RIDICULOUS

She brok the law but give me a fucking break coppers, let some shit sliiiiide :)

I wonder if they would be complaining if they got a speeding ticket? After all, the cell phone law is essentially the same thing, a law enacted to make the roads safer.

Sorry, but they broke the law and now they need to deal with the consequences of your actions.

Still, I do admit that the officer in question could have been nicer about the whole thing.

fair enough but I guess every person racing there daughter or son to the hospital should be pulled over for speeding, then when they dont stop, you know cause of the dying and all, they should also be charged for trying to evade police, refusing to pull over, public endagerment etc...funny though...they never get charged with all that.

yes law was broken but really? , she must have been on her period
