I think it's really stupid you even consider going out in your pj's.

I'm not a "jammie shopper" by any means, but - I do find it rather amusing that people may take offense to someone wearing flannel pants in public, whereas another woman could walk in dressed like a cheap hooker and that would be just fine because she's in "proper clothing"

agreed, have some bloody self respect, throw on some clothes. And yes I feel the same when people dress like hookers and walk around, unless of course they are soliciting.....then all the power to them

Footwear is a given considering there could be glass or foods stuck to the floors. I just can't believe someone would be so lazy as to not want to throw on a pair of jeans or sweat pants to go out in public. Why not just sleep in your cloths just so you don't have to take "all" that time to put on PJ's.

The thing is (not to defend this behavior, it's just an observation) a lot of people wear the sleep pants instead of sweats because they find the flannel more comfortable than fleece.

No, that doesn't make it right, but I'd still rather see flannel covering shopper's asses than having them hanging out of some of the "acceptable" short ensembles I've seen in past years.

To put this into perspective...

I think it's more an issue of hygiene. Are they too lazy to change out of their street clothes and hop into bed as well? I sleep in Gap boxer briefs and I've never been so lazy that I couldn't throw on a pair of sweats and a t-shirt to out in. I just don't get it.........

Oh I hear ya, no worries. I've never understood it either. Given a choice (in some cases), I'd have to vote for the sleep pants though.

The other thing to consider is the fact that (we did a poll at work last week ) most people actually wear the sleep pants to bed. They sleep with nothing and put the pants on in the morning in lieu of a bathrobe or sweats (as I explained earlier as a comfort preference).

Does it exhibit laziness? Absolutely.
Would I ever do it? No.
Have I seen worse alternatives for street attire? Yep.
