EDMONTON -- A man who distributed child porn by posting naked photos of his underage girlfriend online after being dumped shouldn't get a mandatory minimum one-year jail term.
"DrCaleb" said Screw him, he deserves 18 months for what he did.
Jail time, yes. Child porn? No. It was consentual. Posting it on the web, was reprehensible though, I just don't think it was a crime. If a 20 year old man did that to your 16 year old daughter you would.
In case my last post was a little ambiguous, I'll clear up the fact that I fully support the child porn charge. He distributed pornography containing someone he knew was a minor. What part of that doesn't fit the charge??
Yeah I'm sorry, but even though it was consentual, this guy kenw what he was doing and posted pictures online. At least oen eyar of jail would be good.

Nope. The girl I married was younger than that when we started going out (but I was younger than 20). I cannot be a hypocrite. 14 was the age of consent at the time we were going out.
But I had the decency to never consider doing something like that. And I still have some pics of my ex, at that age. She let me take the pictures consensually, trusting no one would ever see them but me. (I developed the film and the photos)
If some bastard and stalked my daughter, I would support the full weight of the law be thrown at him. If he posted those pics, there wouldn't be much left to go to trial. But I don't agree that it's child porn. That is in a whole category by itself, reserved for the sickest among society.

Think of the precedent you're setting there. It's okay to exploit girls under 18 years of age on your website if you talked them into dating you first?

18 years old, pretty cut and dry.
