Masters of our destiny now we can move our toys when and where we want. Next up, lets get the crews trained for airdrop with these monsters.

They can build and we can buy 4 of these MONSTERS in a couple years yet we can't get a dozen choppers for decades.

Agreed, not sure why there seems to be such demand for rotary wing aircraft, especially since we are essentialy trying to buy off the shelf replacements for the Sea King. I understand that for Chinooks it is just too much demand, even though we are about the only country who will be wrangling a few from the US Army this fall.

The USAF allowed us to jump the que by about 4 to 5 years and take their next four off the line. Plus we had no major changes slated for the GMs. The shipboard helos are basically a purpose built aircraft on a known air frame.

The Chinooks? Guess the US Army ain't quite so accomodating as the USAF?

because we already have a contract with Sikorsky for the sea king replacements. They were supposed to enter service next year but now they are defaulting on the contract.
