20,000 people traveling down one highway with few gas stations along the way. Going to be a rough evac. I wish them luck and hope that it’s purely precautionary.
Yep, I bet this is even worse than the Fort Mac evac in 2016, which also evacuated tens of thousands of people down a single highway. The problem here of course, is that major cities like Edmonton are 14 hours away, instead of five.

If I were the owner of a gas station along that highway, I would have called yesterday for a tanker refill. Just like Fort Mac.
Lots of people who call in say 'Hi Judy, remember me?' or 'Just called in Peter to let you know we are in Whitecourt..'.
Yellowknife is still a small town, like the one I grew up in.
