It's the worst natural disaster in Hawaii’s history since Hurricane Iniki.

Just brutal what happened. Just like what happened to Lytton, the town was razed to the ground by the fire.

6 confirmed killed and sadly there are many unaccounted for at this point as well. The footage I've seen on the news is devastating.

The toll is expected to get much higher. :(

It's almost unbelievable how much destruction has taken place.

Maui residents had little warning of fires that killed at least 55

Fort Mac was a unforseen disaster. Now it's happening somewhere, every year. :(

I don't have a twitter account so I can't log in to see whatever that says.

Considering the title and that you've posted it in this thread it's probably something that would annoy me anyway.

Why morons always have to dump bs all over disasters is beyond me. Heartless jerks.

The many stories of survival and escape are so awful. So many people have lost loved ones and friends. The fact that officials have had to plead with vacationers to reconsider their plans is also awful. Why on earth would you even consider going to an area that is suffering and take away a hotel room that is needed for housing those displaced and those that are there helping?

That's easy, clicks + money. Same reason why you need laws against price gouging during a disaster. People are going to rip people off for as much as they can while the opportunity exists. It's the reason why you groceries prices are sky high.

40% of the economy is based upon tourism, they can't function without people going there.
