Probably as UFCWU has a rep as a "pussy union" that's caved to 2 tier contracts and cuts since the 1990s. The wife was a member, 16 years of 40 hr weeks in the grocery chain, twice got all benefits cut off until she put in X hours again after surgeries for work related injuries, never got listed as full time and the very first day of retirement all her benefits were cut. The majority of members are female, not militant at all, most are in the union 'because they have to be'... what more incentive to get stepped all over by management.

I doubt they can terminate a contract with a year left on it because they won't take a wage rollback. And if they can, this is not the way to attract and retain staff.
