To be fair that is a consequence of our parliamentary system and he is playing the role laid out for him as seen here:

You will note that question period is not known as answer period for a reason. Question are formatted to the speaker and the answer may or may not have ANYTHING to do with the question posed and that is by design. The public has to glean the intent from the back and forth. PP is beating the drum of private contracts and government spending has caused inflation and the cost of living crisis while the government deflects with patronizing 'we stand with Canadians' rhetoric while avoiding providing details that could be used by the opposition in a media sound bite.

It's a dance and the nation is burning while these fools fiddle. That same dance is happening on the federal/provincial level over healthcare policy. We end up with the buck stopping NOWHERE and endless finger pointing. This is intentional by ALL parties as it takes two to tango. They can blame each other while not doing anything and so it goes...

Add in municipal governments when it comes to some issues as well.

What really pisses me off is when any party spends their time telling everyone how bad the other party is on an issue without offering what they would do differently. This is especially bad when an election is nearing.

That seems to be the new tune in politics. "Everything is bad, and it's their fault. But we aren't going to fix it either."
