She must also surrender her passport, cannot travel outside of the province, is prohibited from owning a cellphone and cannotgo on the internet except for school purposes.
Yeah right...
So they will be bailed out with nothing further? Figures.
"Nobody was surprised that he would stick up for somebody like that," Johnson Hatlemsaid.
Gru, a former homeless individual who organized Tuesday's memorial, said he and others living on the streets had one thought come to their mind after hearing about Lee's death.
"That could be me," he said.
"Most unhoused people will tell you personal stories of being chased by people who are looking to beat them up ... We all know someone who died, we all know someone who was attacked."
It's fucking disgusting that people would attack those who are vulnerable for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
"All eight were together. All eight were involved," he said. "I won't say what each one individually did, but all eight weretogether and participating in this event, which is disturbing."
He described the attack as a "swarming," which normally involves selecting a target to victimize.
They better all be punished as adults.

This is what I mean when I write 'Guns are a symptom'. The problem is; why do people want to commit violence? Guns are kind of secondary to the problem. As these kids did, knives and vehicles are also ways to inflict damage. But why?
What makes spoiled girls from the 'burbs want to go downtown and commit murder on people they don't know? That is one issue we should be looking at. What makes people ram the gates of the Governor Generals' residence? What makes people drive a van down a sidewalk?
Guns are just the easy solution to a complicated problem.
Police investigate whether girls' alleged subway assaults related to fatal stabbing
Police are investigating after a group of eight to 10 girls allegedly assaulted several people on Dec. 17 between 10 p.m. and midnight at five downtown Toronto subway stations.
They said the alleged assaults were "random" and they are looking for victims.
I can understand why other possible victims have not come forward. Fear most likely and maybe embarrassment that they were targets of teenage girls. The investigators must have some video evidence though and likely it is the same group.
This particular case has nothing to do with guns. Just a bunch of twats with no respect for other people.
Perhaps my argument isn't clear. I mean the reason people kill is where we should be trying to make changes in society, not the things they use to kill. Like, where did these teeny boppers get the idea that going downtown to rob people who have nothing might be a good hobby? Where did they get the idea there were no consequences for these actions?
That's what stops the rest of us from acting out Grand Theft Auto in traffic; the knowledge of consequences.

My money is on the banality of evil. The was a clique of bored young girls who balk at the idea of being told what to do and unchecked used violence to get their kicks.
You sound like they had intent, far from it. They were a mob and they had no plan. This was a reaction to him standing up to them. They were bullies who used force for the thrill of it, that's it. Peer pressure of trying to look cool, nothing more.
I recall an interview with the lady who was originally being robbed. She was at a homeless shelter. I also got the impression the girls weren't from around there, but the suburbs.
So it seems to me they had to travel downtown to rob that lady. Whether they went there specifically rob someone, or just did it spur of the moment - they did have to plan to leave the burbs. I may not have my facts right, but that is my recollection.

Safe bet on the evil. But where did the evil come from? Bands of rampaging tweens have never been a thing.
This is why guns should and must be banned from urban areas. We simply can't have nice things not because we can't have sane gun rules and a coherent gun culture, it's that thugs will be thugs and the lowest common denominator will always determine the path of civilization.
Really? That they make headlines and are committing murder is new but bullies and gangs have always been a thing just our tolerance to bullies as a society has changed. We don't tolerate it whereas before we just ignored/excused it. Boys will be boys, right? The hook here is that they are girls and they met on the net. Salacious headlines!
I grew up in a small town. It wasn't a thing, boys or girls. If you caused trouble, someone knew you and would phone your parents.

Again, banning the method of committing violence will not solve the reasons for the violence. It will simply change the method. Back when we didn't have gangs running around, we used to take .22 rifles to school for range practice during Phys Ed. We didn't possess the hatred needed to use those rifles on other people. We didn't even think of such things.
What has changed?
Then, like minds think alike. Gangs form. Social hierarchy is imposed. The ones who do not have morals hindering their ambition quickly rise to the top and root out any pretenders to their control.
You wont have this problem in a small town simply because they can't sustain the numbers to create a gang of any significant clout.
The root cause of this is boredom and an adolescence need to rebel against order. Growing pains. Since we can't ban boredom then we need to keep the sharp objects away for the children least they cause harm to themselves and others if we want to have a civilization and commerce. We can't hold the parent accountable for this because they are as much of a victims of this violence as the victims and will be paying for the rest of their lives as social pariahs. Held hostages to choices that were more chance than choice.
Why smirk about it? Is this all a joke to you? A part of the show?
I hope this is the judge for their individual bail hearings or that their attitude is taken into consideration by whoever is.
