What a project, I hope it gets built but why build it where you have to clean up the contaminated site, where some estimates are as high as $500M. The Flame figure more like $150M will do the job.

This would explain Dave Dickenson's obvious snarky remark when asked what he thought of the Riders new facility. Especially when everyone else from players to management is raving about the place.

Asked for his review of the stadium, Stampeders head coach Dave Dickenson declined.

No comment on that. Were working on our own project in Calgary, he said.

Sure is pretty but Calgary had better get their act together and get the Arena and Stadium deal done for the good of the CFL and NHL.

Everyone assumes that just because other fans don't like their opponents team that they don't want them to succeed off the field or ice. That's the farthest thing from the truth. When stadiums and arena's get old they normally lose attendance (Sask being the exception) which in turn means lost revenue for the team and league as a whole. So here's hoping that Calgary can get their ass in gear and build both a state of the art stadium and arena so those teams can draw large crowds and they don't end up having to sell shares in the team just to keep it afloat like the Riders had to do decades ago.
