N_Fiddledog N_Fiddledog:
Al-Jazeera did a special on the flotilla's leaving on Friday.

http://www.memritv.org/clip/en/2489.htm

Here's a clip from the transcript.

$1:
Reporter: Despite the Israeli threats and some unexpected obstacles, the arrival of the ships at the rendezvous, in preparation to set sail to Gaza, has kindled the emotions and enthusiasm of the participants.

Crowd chanting:“Khaybar, Khaybar, oh Jews, the army of Muhammad will return.”

Reporter: Through songs about the Palestinian Intifada, the participants expressed their longing to reach Gaza.

Participant 1: The brothers here are shouting and are full of enthusiasm. They are waiting to leave soon, with the ships around us in the sea. Allah willing, we will make our way to Gaza.

Participant 2: We are now waiting for one of two good things – either to achieve martyrdom, or to reach Gaza.

It's easy to see this flotilla achieves more in propaganda value, with people
willing to die and people looking for a confrontation.

If the convoy reaches Gaza without incident, it never makes the news.

Gotta love the attention whores.

Here's a report from the AP.

It's fair, but notice the desire for martyrdom didn't make the cut.

I'm also waiting for Zip's media to tell us a little more about the Insani Yardim Vakfi. They're the Hamas sympathizing, (in fact supporting) organization that organized the flotilla.

http://www.terrorism-info.org.il/malam_ ... s_e105.htm

Pimprewski, the Pravda West piece you saw may be kind of correct on no arms being on board. There were knives and sling shots. A couple of the Israeli commandos were shot by gunfire, but there's an argument right now as to whether the arms were taken from the commandos, or they had been hidden on board. When the Israelis first started shooting they were aiming at legs. Then gunfire was heard from the other side, and all bets were off.

Check this one out for the other side.

Here ya go. Footage from the Al Jazeera piece showing what the "Peace Activists", on the floatilla were really all about.

$1:
On the day before the IDF boarded the ship, the “peace activists” on board the Marmara chanted the jihadi slogan to kill all Jews.

“[Remember] Khaibar, Khaibar, oh Jews! The army of Muhammad will return!”

Khaibar is the name of the last Jewish village defeated by Muhammad’s army in 628. Many Jews were killed in that battle, which marked the end of Jewish presence in Arabia. There are Muslims who see that as a precursor to future wars against Jews. At gatherings and rallies of extremists, this chant is often heard as a threat to Jews to expect to be defeated and killed again by Muslims.

Al-Jazeera also interviewed a woman who said that the flotilla participants’ goal was “one of two happy endings: either Martyrdom or reaching Gaza.”

These were not “peace activists.” These were not even civilians. These were terrorists with a purpose. And they achieved it. Israel is suffering its worst public relations disaster since the supposed bombing of a family on a Gaza beach—which turned out to be a Hamas-caused explosion, but the world never, ever updated its information on that.

The delegitimization of Israel continues at breakneck speed.

Terrorists deliberately target and kill civilians for political ends. Unless weapons bound for Hamas are found aboard this vessel (no, not slingshots), then I don't think that the actions of these people constitute "terrorism."

I don't disagree that these people were fully intent on martyrdom though. When unarmed and boarded by commados, if you do not fully comply with the orders, you're very likely to end up getting shot.

I though Israel was letting humanitarian shipments in anyway.

They are.

No weapons or related.

No building material... so Hamas cant rebuild their bunkers.

Because Egypt is the other nation along with Israel that has the blockade in place

Egypt enforces it along its land border with the strip, do they participate in the maritime blockade as well?

Egypt? Ha! Call the Russians and tell them there is a bunch of Somalia pirates that need to be 'picked up' or better yet get NK to do some target practice with their subs. No fuss no muss. There would be no video or survivors to tell the tale.

Israel doesn't care too much about PR anymore. I think enough of the Jersalem Bus #19 and pizzaria bombing incidents back during the last intafadeh more or less killed of any desire on the part of Israel to hold back from harsh military responses. They also now firmly view, and quite correctly too, that all the major international organizations ranging from the UN to the Red Cross to the EU are now so totally one-sided in their open support of Muslims, so they probably aren't going to bother to placate anyone anymore in the diplomatic circles who have clearly sided with their enemies.

Nice selection of quotes from the jihadist assholes on the "relief" boats. If that's the sort of people on them then too bad Israel didn't just up and sink the whole fucking lot of them.
