"Another thing not computed into all this enough, I think, are the smuggling tunnels between Egypt, and Gaza."

I suppose the fact that they don't have the same freedom as you to shop at your local grocery mart bears no consideration. They are not criminals and they are as deserving as you of freedom and a good life. They should not have to smuggle food through tunnels to stay alive, should they?

Israel committed an international crime. Where are their sanctions?

"61% of people in the Gaza Strip are … food insecure," of which "65% are children under 18 years" http://unispal.un.org/unispal.nsf/47d4e277b48d9d3685256ddc00612265/9a265f2a909e9a1d8525772e004fc34b?OpenDocument

"Since June 2007, "the number of Palestine refugees unable to access food and lacking the means to purchase even the most basic items, such as soap, school stationery and safe drinking water, has tripled"
http://www.irinnews.org/report.aspx?ReportID=89302

"in February 2009, the level of anemia in babies (9-12 months) was as high as 65.5%" http://unispal.un.org/unispal.nsf/47d4e277b48d9d3685256ddc00612265/9a265f2a909e9a1d8525772e004fc34b?OpenDocument

Oh I'm sorry. Those must simply be examples of a Muslim plot against Israel.

Statistics also were produced saying aid was getting into Gaza. A lot of it. More supplies are delivered through the tunnels. You produce statistics suggesting the Palestinians who need them aren't getting those supplies.

Hmmm...is there, I wonder, a set of circumstances under which both sets of statistics might be accurate?

Has there ever been a situation where aid was supplied, yet those who needed that aid, did not get it?

No they did not. Saying it over, and over again does not make it so. Which court decided this? Show me the ruling?

You sound like your trying to justify the inhumane treatment of persons like you. Isn't that silly thing to do?

I'm not getting that one. You'll have to explain it more clearly.

I'm not living under the rule of anything like Hamas, thank God.

I only said it once but perhaps you could show me that they didn't. Maybe I made a 'mistake'. Good thing piracy is rampant in 'international' waters. Take that to the U.N on 'ruling' in a court of law.

Huh? Try explaining yourself more clearly.

Thank God or Thank Coincidence. The only difference between you and one of your brothers is the place and situation into which you were born. When you are able to justify any action against your brother then you set a precident to which you can now be subjected without recourse. Your putting restrictions on how YOU might live. [B-o]

Sorry about that. It's been said on multiple occasions in this thread. I didn't stop to take names.

Apparently the law governing the legality of a blockade is twitchy, but in order for one to be illegal it would have to have been decided as so in some court somewhere.

I still don't get what you're talking about. The situation in the middle east is very complicated. Which one's are my brothers? Hamas, foreign instigators of problems, the Palestinians stuck between Hamas and the Israelis, or the Israelis? Who specifically am I supposed to be having this empathy for, and why them, but not the others?

In other words, you don't know and have no evidence otherwise in accordance with the article but would rather shoot your mouth off. Great. Thanks. I never said anything about the legality of a 'blockade' but rather the actions occurred in the topic at hand.

I get sick and tired of Israel and Israeli supporters hiding behind the holocaust or by labeling everyone that disagrees with them as "Anti-Semetic". Israel killed a bunch of people who were in international waters. Now unless you can claim that Nobel laureates are Al-qeuda supporters planning imminent suicide attacks then the whole thing is simply another American style smear campaign

"Oh my goodness you don't support Israel and the Us policy there. You're a terrorist then and we can safely ignore your opinion because of course Terrorists like you ar Al-Queda lovers"

Israel has long since lost any moral high-groundwith their provilivity for and should be treated as any other nation. I don't feel and neither should anyone else feel guilty of the holocaust. Quite the contrary Canada amongst others fought for nigh on 6 years to end National-Socialism.

When Israel starts acting like a decent , democratic. equal and fair society then they can be treaetd as one

Shhhh careful, the Human Rights Commission of Canada is seeing this. You could potentially be labeled as anti-semitic for posting that and see some jail time or hefty fines. Remember, we're a multicultural society and opinions against other cultures is a crime.
