What most people fail to get is at the heart of the Kyoto Protocal is the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
In Kyoto it is refered to as the convention.

The following paragraph can be found at page 23/24

4. Developing country Parties may, on a voluntary basis,

propose projects for financing, including specific

technologies, materials, equipment, techniques or practices

24

that would be needed to implement such projects, along with,

if possible, an estimate of all incremental costs, of the

reductions of emissions and increments of removals of

greenhouse gases, as well as an estimate of the consequent

benefits.

My interpretation
If we do not develope the alternative technologies here, then we will finance developing countries to invent and inovate then we will also be buying that technology back from them.

The Urban Myth of disapearing Inventors will be a reality, this time to third world countries!

USA is an Oil Economy. The ability to obstruct alternative technologies at home, no longer exists, to the extent of 10 years ago.

Let the Dino's rest in peace.

Dennis Baker
Did you see China special on "The National" on Friday, January 21st? Although Cnaada is one of the most skilled countries in the world, our biggest export to China is the declining pulp'n'paper industry, and China's biggest export to Canada is electrical equipment! We're buying high-tech stuff from the low-wage paradise.....I'm sure their quality is excellent, too.
how does that effect

Why the USA hates Kyoto
It doesn't exactly. Just rambling about how because countries like China and India are exempted, we're just shipping our jobs and pollution overseas, without reducing world pollution in the slightest.
