Sure, if we get rid of NAFTA.
Milton, this story was about the U.S. being able to stop exports. Under NAFTA, and due to foreign ownership, the U.S. sets our oil and gas prices and THEY currently decide what we do. HOWEVER, they can do what they want because under NAFTA we are under U.S. trade law.

Mexico is even better--they have a nationalzed company that controls their oil and they refused to make oil part of NAFTA.

Nafta bans Canadian governments from stopping oil exports in times of crisis , or any other time. Under nafta we have to continue exporting oil to the US , even if it means allowing Canadians to freeze to death as a result.
Long past time to dump NAFTA. Lets make it an election issue this time around ,at the all candidates meetings and on the phone in talk shows.
Brent
