I've read both these books I got them from Amazon too. The first one is hilarious and tells of Preece's personal life amongst the marines. It is a no holds barred account of drink, s*x, violence and hilarious humour.

The sequal "Always A Marine" is quite different and is all about the fact that Preece has left the marines but is still mentally a soldier. He still has the belligerent mentality that he developed as a marine and fights to contain the aggression. Eventually it is the ninjas that help him to find what he is looking for. A good book I thought. I just couldn't put it down.

Also: These books caused mayhem on the Brit Marines website, however, you can see the truth shining through even though they tried to deny this stuff went on in the 80's:

Copy these into your browser:

Amongst The Marines:

http://civviestreet.proboards19.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1094557494

Always A Marine:
http://civviestreet.proboards19.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1128526357&page=1

Note: To change pages click on the pages button on the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
