If the locals don't want foreign troops there, their presence in Afghanistan is nothing short of invasion. The "war on terror" is a scam anyway, it's sole purpose is to generate excuses for Bush's oil wars. Regardless of who sent our troops there, they don't serve any good purpose there and should leave immediately.

Didn't read his comments, did ya?<br /> <br /> "You're living with people who desperately want you there — and the Afghans do. I mean, they say: 'The only thing between us and chaos again is you.'<br /> <br /> <br /> The locals *do* want our troops there.

Who says that the locals want our troops there aside from the head thug? Get a grip, you can't trust what General Handgrenade says or any of the major media monsters or the Afghan heroin overlords.

I think our troops are wanted, but as they are percieved to be peacekeepers, peacemakers and rebuilders, not as they have been sent as warmongers under U.S.command...that is the difference. Our troops are going to lose the respect we have gained over the years and that is one reason why we shouldn't be there under this command. If we were going as peacekeepers as part of the U.N. it would be different, but even Hillier made it clear that isn't our mission. This should be debated openly and clearly in the House and the people should know exactly what is going on. We are being used and I think most people know it!

I'm curious. Why would the Afghani's not want us there? I would think, from reading personal views from the Afghanis, that they would not want to be living under a regime such as the Taliban. When the oppressed women there tell you they can get beat or killed for anything other than baby making, how is that not a cry for help?<br />
