Separatism isn't the answer. I know Canada has problems but the problems that we face are due our neighbours to the south and to a relatively few people who are doing a great disservice to this Country by trying to facilitate our demise as a nation. It doesn't matter if we're talking about Quebec separating, Alberta separating or the entire West separating, the outcome would be essentially the same for everyone. All fragments of the Country would be swallowed up by America and it would happen at a faster pace than it is happening now. If what we want is to NOT be disolved into the American soup, we have to learn to get along and fight against the cesspool vortex that is trying to engulf us all as we speak. Only once Canada is once again strong and free, can we then begin to deal with our own internal issues but those issues would probable not be such a great concern or be so great in numbers. Nothing can bring people together like a common goal.

The fight to protect Canadian sovereignty on this continent is very similar to Canada's own objective of swallowing and shutting up dissent from those who make up this loosely bound federation. Same objective, different story.

It's sad that no leader of any of the major federal parties has the balls to make the erosion of our national sovereignty a major election issue. Jack Layton, in 2003, told me he would , but he was lying, and has done nothing of the kind in the 7 years since.
