Exactly my point earlier Tifani; also Samuel says, 'To suggest you have the slightest idea of what's best for Québec as an Albertan is simply outrageous'

But Samuel I am also a Canadian, I have lived in several provinces, I was raised in a predominately French community, some of my ancestors settled in Quebec, I have relatives all over Canada, so I do have a vested interest in Canada's future. I also cannot be paid for my vested interest as you suggested.

That is one of the problems, you are denying a basic fact, Quebec is part of Canada until it is not. So at this point whether you deny it or not you are Canadian. I can deny that I am a human being, but that won't change the fact.(although you might think I am not)

My concerns is for Canada the country and I believe that there are powers which have been in place since our very beginnings to become an American colony. Certain people will probably benefit financially from such an evolvement, but it will not be the people. It will not be the Quebecois nor the Albertans who chose separation. It will not be the Canadian military that will shed blood, but it could be a foreign power, once they see our weakness in our internal fighting for our separate independance.

Each time a politician starts this talk, 'we the people of this province are not being respected, not being represented and not getting our fair share'; the people get their shackles up and say that is right. As with most issues, we the people, are never told what separation really means, what we lose and what we gain from that decision. Many people will be hurt by the violence which will come, because of frustrated people, people who do not believe that the process is moving fast enough.

When the separatist movement was very wild in the 1970's the FLQ did not use democracy to create the image of the new Quebec. The zealots will not wait for democracy and just like any other situation, people make money from war, civil or otherwise. You can bet that war will come to Canada if we cannot learn to live in peace. That is my fear, and you can call it fear mongering, or you can step back for a moment and think about the issue. Sometimes there is a very real reason to fear and I believe that we have much to fear from the corporate takeover of Canada.

When it happens, Quebec will not have its language, its culture or its rights, but then again neither will any other province. We will be slaves to the corporate regime, that isn't just fear, that is looking at what is happening all over the world.

When these war mongers get an idea, like supplying both sides of the Iran-Contra situation, do you think they cared who won, how many die? No they make money. Would it be a real stretch to say that someone might get stupid and decide to fund a small group of terrorist on either side of a hostile situation in Canada. So we lose a few thousand people on either side, or more, they don't care, they will come in to settle the affair, and we all lose.

There is one question which remains for me, why can't our elected provincial reps make proper fair deals for their constituents with our elected officials in Ottawa. Both are suppose to represent us, both are paid by us. Did it not occur to you that these people might benefit more by not getting along with each other? Do you think that when they rub shoulders at those ritzy affairs for big wigs, they discuss what is good for the people, or is it more about, you help my buddy over here and I'll ignore that issue over there?

These are the questions which go through my mind. We the people can continue to say that each province doesn't have the right to interfere, doesn't have the right to have an opinion, etc. and that each province is being short changed, but if we really want what is best we ought to try to find the answer to stop the corporate takeover, the globalization, the greed of our politicians which supercedes all of our needs and rights.
