It sounds like a punk band or the flyer to a neighbourhood get together They don't have a ton of hits or a lot of posters, but it's interesting to see parties spring up. I'm reminded of the last time such a thing happened which was just after world war two when they started coming out of the woodwork. If anything it shows the unrest in canada and the attempt to deal with it in a political way. I'm reminded very much of the early reform party, many of which were 'grassroots' conservatives who felt their party had sold out. As somebody who doesn't really want to see conservatives govern, any party that 'splits the vote' is welcome. Such parties always tend to bring up social issues, which often seems a mistake because social policy is primarily a provincial matter, which means it simply further divides them.

The other problem is that in the course of separation they would need the mandatory votes in ALL four provinces, something that probably ain't gonna happen. Manitoba is a have not province while sask is barely a have, with NDP governments, and Alberta hasn't exactly been writing them cheques. Albertans would figure they'd be better off on their own or just with BC so they have access to the coast, but then socially BC'ers are far different from Albertans. Either way, good luck.

I don't get it, the west already has a lame, regionalist, socially regressive, elitist, far right party. It's the one led by Stephen Harper.

Whatever, this party is BQ Lite.

Although the last thing I want is a divided Canada, this does go to show you how frustrated Canadians are with the way the current Government is running. It's too bad we couldn't come together with a better system for all provinces, instead of growing apart. But that's just wishful thinking.

I don't know much about Saskatchewan Politics. But isn't it one of the only Provinces that is not in debt? Maybe that was years ago. I know a lot of people make fun of it, but I love it there. The people are great!

BQ lite...haha. I like that.

*Zing!*

Does anyone else define Irony as Saskatchewan not wanting nuclear reactors, but being one of the largest exporter of Uranium in North America?

As for the party, *yawn*. Never happen. Westerners are pissed at Ottawa, but Reform was the best chance we had and it got sold down the river.
Saskatchewan does okay as long as they remember to vote NDP. Tommy Douglas had what, 943 balanced budgets? Okay, maybe it was a couple less than that. Blakney was running in the black. Romanow got things back under control once Devine was gone. Calvert...well Calvert looks like an undertaker, and I mean that in the worst possible way, but he was able to put Saskatchewan into the have category.

The best thing about Saskatchewan though? The hills.

Thanks for that info about the Uranium. I didn't know that.
Some stuff here:
Uranium Mine Waste
Millions of Tons - Millions of Years

PROMOTING SASKATCHEWAN URANIUM MINING

Ok so Alberta has the oil, Sask has the Uraniuim, what don't I know about Manitoba?
Ok so Alberta has the oil, Sask has the Uraniuim, what don't I know about Manitoba?
Radioactive oilfish?

We have a little oil and likely a little uranium. Our mining practices suck. Same with our logging. Our hydro-electricity is a concern. So are our hog farms.

What do you want to know? It is the hydro that will make us into a have province. It is also the hydro that caused us to take advantage of natives (that's far more ugly than it sounds). The environmental aspects are minimal now that technology has advanced and fossil fuels have become such a problem, but there are still major environmetal aspects that nobody is talking about.

Radioactive oilfish! But this site says everything is just peachy now.

I wonder where that would leave Ontario? Just as a senario.
A separate West, and Quebec. I wonder why some group in Ontario is not jumping on the band wagon?
