We should have government by referendum, my representative does not represent me, s/he represents him/herself.

Most politicians get approval of only about 1/4 of the eligible vote and some get even less than that. What is usually never discussed, is the voter turnout, which is dropping like a rock due to what I suspect is an increasing awareness that voting is a waste of time since it never seems to make any difference who or what assumes power.<br />
