Excellent idea! One on one, the local director might be intimidating, but in a group, he shall be the one squirming!!

I feel sorry for whomever shows up at my door... I've been nose to nose with murders, so a district supervisor is like a bunny in a park!

Remember just be polite and tell them that you refused for (insert your particular reason), and then tell them what they can do to ensure your particular worries will be appeased before you acquiesce and do as they want.

The threat of jail should and would make anyone pause, so don't feel bad about that. If the person they send by gets heated, or worse threatening, by all means, just close your door after informing them that you refuse to deal with them in their heightened manner.

I added myself too. Of course, in keeping with my philosophy of remaining anonymouse, I was rather vague.

For those using Firefox or another mozilla varaint, frappr and Google Maps have problems with it.
Unified groups also have the habit of getting more media attention than the lone dissenter, as much as I deplore our media.
The Canadian MSM seems to be one-sided in supporting the census, and is repeating the threats of fines and/or imprisonment for noncompliance. They are also ignoring what I think are two important reasons for boycotting the census:

1) It's mandatory, which is deplorable in a so-called free society. If I fill it out, I'll be doing so under duress, and not of my own free will.

2) The use of a murderous foreign defense contractor used to suplly who-knows-what is deplorable.

I doubt we'll see much support from the MSM as they appear to be part of the problem that we're fighting.

No matter, a unified group is better than a lone looney anarchist (or whatever they'll decide to call us).

The biggest weakness the census has, is for people to comply but in a way that undermines the value of the data collected. Threats of fines and imprisonment are mostly empty, because it's almost impossible to weed out the good information from the bad, and you can easily lie on the form without being detected (otherwise they would not need the census).

I see a huge effort (and tax $ spent) on propaganda designed to convince us that we should comply with a big smile on our faces. Unless we all fill the forms out with a big smile, StatsCan will NOT get good information and they know it.

I intend to document what goes down after the census police start harassing me for noncompliance. We should make sure that we all do the same.

The census people know that bad publicity is really bad for the quality of their data, so if we can make a big enough stink, they'll probably prefer to back down and leave us alone.

I've been threatened before a couple census's ago, I complied, but the data they forced out of me was not of high quality so-to-speak.

Too many poorly filled out forms are what the census police fear the most.

So, one strategy is to comply while under their threats, but due to the duress you suffered at the time, you ended up making a few mistakes. If I do fill out the form, I'll write down in red ink that my compliance was coerced through threats against my freedom and well being, and was done while under severe duress due to these threats. I think I may add that due to the duress I am suffering under, that I cannot guarantee that I answered each of the questions accurately - and that should be enough to have the form tossed into the trash bin even if I so happened to answer each question accurately.

One thing I find amazing, is that StatsCan hired LM while knowing that it could compromise the quality of their data. I guess they figured that with enough positive spin, they could get around the problem anyway - but why take the risk? Speaks volumes about what's really going on I think.
Good one! It reminds me a children's tail from my distant childhood. An animal (I think it was a bunny) learned to count so he started counting the other animals. The other animals all ran to their parent crying, like "mommy help, the bunny counted me!". Soon enough all the grown animals were after the poor bunny and eventually cornered him. Then, the bunny told them that he was just trying to count and showed them how. The animals eventually understood that he meant no harm and all started counting happily.

This country has a lot of bunnies.

Nice fairy tail world you live in. At what point does the Bunny give those numbers to the Gestapo?
