will people clue in? Disliking the US policies and maintaining a truthful perspective is not being anti-American. Canadians feel that the people of the U.S. are much like them, but much pumped full of bullshit and false values. We try to help them by making them aware of reality, which they don't accept usually. Yes, after the US joined the war due to the Japanese invasion at Pearl they did a lot.

As for the use of nuclear weapons against civilians it is horrible, one of the low points of humanity, right in there with the fire bombing of Dresden. If you can justify that then 9/11 is justified also.

Wait a second here, what does this mean that you said then:

"And the ones who run the government

run the presses.

By the time the Yanks entered the war it had gone from Germany pushing ahead to an almost standstill. The attack on Pearl Harbour brought the US in, mostly against Japan, and mostly with them on the losing side until Nagasaki and Hiroshima. That won their war for them, then they threw in their lot with the rest against Germany. I would rather be speaking Japanese than look at pictures from Hiroshima. There was no honour there."

Right here you basically said that after the US nuked Japan, they decided to throw in against Germany. That is a false statement. I said you are anti-american because you are basically bashing their efforts in World War 2 and implying they didn't do shit, and that Canada, as you said "turned the tide." I don't think anyone is anti-american who is against certain policies of the US, but you just say shit like we were losing against Japan up until we used nukes(another false statement)which seems to me like a putdown towards my country, because everyone except a moron knows that Japan was losing Islands and couldn't stand up against the US military's industrial abilities. If you think Japan is so great, how about you look at some pictures from the rape of manchuria. Japan was a different country back then. I'm aware of reality, and the fact that the a-bombs on Japan weren't needed, considering the amount of damage already done from bombings(saw the percentages of the cities destroyed on the Fog of War movie). I think that your problem is you seem to be assuming that all Americans are stupid. I mean with lines like "Canadians feel that the people of the U.S. are much like them, but much pumped full of bullshit and false values. We try to help them by making them aware of reality, which they don't accept usually." I think your arrogance shines very brightly. I know my country isn't perfect, but I also know we did alot in World War 2, and while some things aren't easily justified(a-bombing Japan) I find that alot of the statements you keep making are disrespectful and moronic. How many Americans do you even know? You keep making these generalizations about Americans as though all of us are stupid and full of propaganda. I make up my own mind about what I see and barely ever take the news at face value, but you wouldn't know that because you don't know me.

Yeah, I've already read about that shit in the book "Toxic sludge is good for." What are you trying to get at? That the actions of a few(and I'm sure there were others around the world who might have been friendly with the Nazis)reflect the whole nation? Before the massive wars and Hitlers conquest accross Europe, United States reporters were going to Germany and reporting on how great of a condition the country is in and how Hitler is such a strong leader. Fact remains that you can't predict the Future. I mean, French companies and the UN were supposedly involved with Saddam, even though sanctions were imposed, and lets not forget the oil for food scandel. I'm not excusing anyone, just pointing out that curruption does exist, and none of us can see into the future. If you are trying to put those articles up as a way to disgrace the US(as most of you try to do)actions in World War 2, then I can't agree with your motives.

I really don't even see what that has to do with the post I was making here. I was talking about our soldiers who fought over in Canada, and mainly responding to FigFarmers post about Americans being stupid, and you pop up giving your post about Bush family ties to the Nazis(as though I've never heard about it). Quite frankly I'm starting to find your post annoying and I don't really get what the point of showing a link between the Bush family and the Nazis has to do with much going on here.

I'm not trying to offend you, but so far you are just throwing out one-liners and giving a couple links to sites, which is what I find annoying. Maybe if you would explain your motives and what you are getting at things would be a little less confusing. I mean really, within the discussion that I was having prior to your post you just made, where does your post fit in and what does it have to do with it?

Well yeah, that would fit in this thread, but the thread, as they often do, seemed to change after figfarmer started talking about americans being stupid and the US losing against Japan until they dropped nukes or the US not doing shit in Europe. I can't help but wonder if there was sarcasm in your tone. Maybe you could have stated a little clearer what your aim was and what your post was relating to.
