Guess I haven't had enough pain and suffering yet tonight, I went to the links on that website, surprise surprise, the Separation party of Alberta, that ran candidates in the last provincial election wants people to join them first until they officially change the name to the Republic of Alberta, http://www.republicofalberta.com/
there appears to be an organization in almost every province, with people willing to sell us out, as fast as possible. I really am going to have to expand my knowlege of what constitutes treason....I am absolutely horrified at what is happening to my country, and thought I'd seen everything but apparently not!

Well, Canuck, this is the major problem in Canada, that every idiot can organize a separatist party in any Canadian province and there is no law to stop them. Is it possible in France to have an openly separatist party, which does not want just more autpnomy for Brittany but complete separation from France?! Of course not! What happened even in the tiny little Belgium with the nationalistic Flemish party?! Well, the Belgians banned it! What happens in Canada, when a bunch of separatists found a party?! Well, it flourishes! Reference: Bloc Quebecois.
I hope that I'll die in Canada, not in the Republic of whatever chunk of Canada.
…there appears to be [a secessionist] organization in almost every province, with people willing to sell us out, as fast as possible. I really am going to have to expand my knowlege of what constitutes treason…
I’d guess that in most of the provinces, support for secession is quite low. (For example, why would Ontarians support secession? From my vantage point, Ontario’s population guarantees it the Parliamentary driver’s seat.) Presumably there’s an Albertan analogue to Elections Canada where one can discover how many votes the Separation party received in the last provincial election?

For what it’s worth, there are many secessionist organisations south of the border. Vermont alone has at least two: VermontCanada.org, which would like Vermont to become Canada’s next province, and Second Vermont Republic, which advocates either independence or the formation of a “New Atlantic Confederacy” (made up of Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, and possibly Québec). The latter organisation was written up in an article in Le Devoir.
Go to [Department of Justice Canada’s definitions of high treason and treason, in English and en français].
It looks to me that as long as neither force nor violence is used, provincial secession would be neither high treason, treason, nor sedition (the legal definition of sedition: in English and en français).
This info was posted by Merlin on the 'When Did you start caring? forum thread' but I thought it would make for interesting discussion on its own thread. Take a look at this link, I would be interested in others views,

http://www.unitednorthamerica.org/
I'm a member of that site (don't get hasty. It made truly appreciate Canada, so I oppose it). Most of those who do support it, are actually idiots (if you ever can, read up on Monoprise. The stuff he can pull out of his behind...lol), who seem to think we'd vote as a block in liberalism, thus guaranteeing a liberal president. Wow, to trade our very sovereignty and economy just so we can give 20 more senate votes (which mind you, I'm betting it would really only score 50/50 between the Liberals and Conservatives).
Besides, it's not a united North America, it's just a bigger U.S.

If it was all a done deal they wouldn't be trying so hard to convince you that it was a done deal.

Canuck, you know very well that once the Baltic states were independent countries and the Soviets brutally conquered them and now they are free again. There is no analogy between these countries and Alberta for example, or at least I don't see any analogy.
Anyways, I really would prefer to live in Canada with its present borders. If it disintegrates or becomes part of the USA, I'll probably immigrate to the European Union.

I'm with you Eurocanuck. If our border disappears, I'm moving to Europe, particularly the United Kingdom. My great grandparents came from the United Kingdom. I think I would fit in well there than I would in a integrated North America.

Hehe, I know you were banned. A few people have been. Milton, you joined our forum, congrats! Though you may not be a supporter (or maybe so?), welcome. And I see Monoprise also joined. Welcome to you as well! Finally, who could forget Iluvfreebeer from conservativelife.com? As with the others, a hardy welcome to you, eveb if you still view me as commiescum. Lol, that cracks me up everytime I say that.
I do wonder if Joahob or Hasdrubul signed up as well.
